Community Engagement

As a corporate group operating throughout Europe, we recognize our responsibility to society. That is why we support social, regional, cultural, and charitable initiatives through a range of activities, from donations and grants to partnerships.

Our Understanding of Commitment

Responsibility Beyond the Corporate Group: We view our commitment to the community as a complement to our engagement within the company and throughout our value chain. For the CEWE Group, social engagement means supporting local and regional initiatives that can empower people and communities. The regions where the CEWE Group’s brands operate are particularly important to us. As an employer and a part of local economic structures, we want to assume social responsibility in the communities where we work.

Regionally Connected:
Supporting projects at and around the CEWE Group’s locations

Diverse Commitment:
Promoting social, cultural, educational, and environmental initiatives

Partnership-Based:
Collaboration with organizations, associations, and other project partners

Empowering People and Communities

The CEWE Group supports social and charitable initiatives that help people and communities. These include regional fundraising campaigns, donations, and partnerships with organizations and associations. In 2025, the CEWE Group supported more than 200 organizations and associations, including several SOS Children’s Villages locations worldwide.

Promoting Photographic Culture

Photography not only allows us to see things from different perspectives, but also to connect experiences, emotions, and ideas. For this reason, the CEWE Group supports a wide range of projects that celebrate photography as an art form and a means of expression. Part of this commitment involves planning and organizing national and international photography festivals. These festivals serve as a platform for professional photographers, emerging talents, and photography enthusiasts. We place great importance on showcasing the diversity and creativity of photography in all its facets and making it accessible to everyone. Among these, the flagship event is the CEWE Photo Award, which has become the world’s largest photography competition. Both amateur and professional photographers can participate in the CEWE Photo Award and share their perspectives on the beauty of our world.

With this in mind, we organize our own exhibitions in which we showcase works by photographers who express their individual stories and perspectives in unique ways.

Another important aspect is supporting emerging photographers. Through carefully selected projects, our group of companies offers aspiring photographers the opportunity to hold their own exhibition. We firmly believe that this support for young talent helps inspire the next generation of photography enthusiasts and advance their creative careers.

Impressions

For me, photography is a constant companion in life. Through it, I capture my most important moments forever. Photography invites us to share experiences with friends and family, and it helps us connect emotionally. Moreover, it offers insights into all the places and events around the world. Only photography can portray all of this in such a special way—and that is why it must be supported.

Support Environmental Projects

The CEWE Group supports selected external environmental projects and local initiatives in the regions where its brands operate. These projects may focus on nature, education, resource conservation, or collaboration with nonprofit partners. In this way, we complement the measures we take regarding climate, materials, and resources in our own business operations.

Partnership with NABU

Every year, the CEWE Group supports selected NABU projects. In doing so, we promote initiatives dedicated to nature conservation, environmental protection, and species conservation—such as flood protection through restoration or the conservation of wetlands.

At the CEWE locations in Oldenburg, Mönchengladbach, and Eschbach, there is also close collaboration with the local NABU chapter. For example, on the company grounds in Oldenburg, a nature trail was created, an insect hotel was set up, and nesting boxes for swifts were installed.

Working Together for Natural and Cultural Heritage

CEWE UK partners with the National Trust, an organization dedicated to preserving natural and cultural sites in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. As part of this partnership, CEWE employees are also getting personally involved: At the National Trust’s Clent Hills site, colleagues helped with reforestation and conservation efforts, as well as the restoration of trails.

Forestry Project with EcoTree France

Cheerz supports a regional forestry project in the Corrèze region of France. Funding is provided in collaboration with EcoTree France and is dedicated to a specific project in the field of forestry and forest management.

For each project, Cheerz provides information about the specific support being provided, the location, and the partners involved.
